Our read for next month is "The Memory Police" by Yōko Ogawa! This dystopian novel is set on an island where the Memory Police take things away, along with your memories of them. But the narrator’s friend doesn’t forget, putting him at risk of being taken by the Memory Police. CW: Police brutality, some SA. The novel was published in Japanese in 1994 and was translated into English in 2019, whereupon it was nominated for and won many awards. It's 288 pages, and you can find it at your local library or independent bookstore!
